President & Clinical Director

Meet Shayne

“I absolutely love coming in to work and being able to inspire and motivate our patients to keep pushing forward towards their goals.”

I have always enjoyed creative things. Whether it be art, music, writing or prosthetic design, it brings me a lot of joy. Being someone who is a “people person”, the idea of combining my love for creating- along with the joy of meeting new people and making new friends really makes prosthetics the perfect job for me.

Growing up with a father who was a former athlete as well as an amputee, I found myself around a lot of rehabilitation environments as well as adaptive sports like wheelchair basketball. The human spirit involved in overcoming the any injury, especially the loss of a limb, inspired me a great deal.

After receiving my degree in Psychology at UK, I once again found myself drawn to the idea of rehabilitation. While my plan had been to go into family counseling, I still had a passion to be a bit more creative. Given the chance to intern at Integrity Prosthetics as my summer job, I had no doubt I had found what I was born to do. Prosthetics would allow me to combine psychology, my enjoyment in meeting new people, and the joy I’d always found in creating something.

Once I had graduated from the Prosthetics program at Northwestern Medical School, I was able to begin my journey as a board-certified practitioner. These last 24 years working in prosthetics has allowed me to learn, shape and grow into the clinician I am now. I absolutely love coming in to work and being able to inspire and motivate our patients to keep pushing forward towards their goals, while simply enjoying all the friendships created in the process. I enjoy teaching classes, lecturing at various hospitals and universities, and am very proud to work with the VA in order to help restore our heroes and wounded warriors.

I am now the President of Integrity Prosthetics, where my first job was to simply scrape the plaster off the lab floor and take out the trash. I feel that’s the back story of any good leader. Be humble, learn everything you can from everyone you encounter in your line of work. I have never referred to myself as the “boss” here in our clinic. I am simply the lead servant. In the end, I am still just some guy who loves to play guitar, write, draw and create. If someone is faced with the challenge of limb loss, then I would love to be the person who creates the very thing that helps them regain their function and accomplish all their goals. Plus, who doesn’t need new friends?

DeRon Cunliffe

CTP, CPA

DeRon has worked in prosthetics for more than 27 years, all at Integrity Prosthetics. DeRon began his career working as a carpenter and was asked to build some shelves in the prosthetic lab when Integrity Prosthetics first opened in 1990. Jim McClanahan was impressed with his work and offered him a position in the company. He has been with Integrity Prosthetics since the beginning.

He became a Certified Technician in 2003 and then later became a Certified Prosthetic Assistant in 2011. DeRon has always enjoyed working in what he considers to be a family environment and helping people to return to a normal lifestyle with our help.

Jason Smith

CTP, CPA

A native of Danville, KY, Jason became an amputee in 1986 when the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a car. Jason never knew an amputee before his accident and never considered a career in prosthetics. In 1993, while working in a local hardware store, Jason was approached by a prosthetist who worked for Integrity Prosthetics at the time and was asked if he would be interested in working in prosthetics. The rest is history.

He became a Certified Technician in 2003 and then later became a Certified Prosthetic Assistant in 2011. Jason enjoys working with the patients and serving as a role model for amputees in showing what you can accomplish.

Tori McClanahan

VP & Office Manager

Tori was married to Jim McClanahan in 1997, and joined Integrity Prosthetics in 2000, as the Office Manager. She did not have a background in prosthetics or the medical profession, but had worked for many years in the cable television industry, overseeing the installation of hardware and software billing solutions in cable offices, as well as training of staff in the use of those systems.

She considers it a privilege and a blessing to be working in the business her husband started. And now, as an owner, she wants to ensure the legacy started by Jim and Maurice, continues into the next generation. And, although she is not involved in direct patient care, she feels fortunate to watch and be a part of, the success of the patients of Integrity Prosthetics.

Melissa Adkins

Compliance Coordinator

Melissa Adkins holds a Communications degree from the University of Kentucky and joined the Integrity Prosthetics team in 2015 to assist the administrative and office staff.
